Report Highlights U.S. Responses Following Major Terrorism Events

Fairfax, Virginia (September 18, 2006) – The Public Entity Risk Institute (PERI), a nonprofit risk management training and educational organization, has partnered with Claire B. Rubin and Associates to produce a comprehensive narrative covering 18 years of significant terrorist acts and how the U.S. responded. The report entitled Major Terrorism Events and Their U.S. Outcomes (1988-2005) is available in the PERI online Bookstore at www.riskinstitute.org.

“This detailed perspective provides tremendous insight into how terrorist events have affected U.S. policy,” said Gerard J. Hoetmer, Executive Director of PERI. “The report presents a factual accounting of major terrorist occurrences since 1988 and describes how emergency management has evolved in response to each event.”

Researched by Claire B. Rubin and Associates with grant funding from PERI, Major Terrorism Events and Their U.S. Outcomes (1988-2005), is a 65-page perspective on 18 years of major terrorism events and the resulting changes to laws, regulations and organizational structures. To learn more about development of the report and the Terrorism Time Line chart (2001-2005) that complements the report, go to www.disaster-timeline.com. The report is available on CD-Rom or in hard copy and can be purchased for $25 in PERI’s Bookstore at www.riskinstitute.org.
